Crime laboratories

The goal of this opportunity is to assist eligible states and units of local government with existing crime laboratories that conduct DNA analysis to process, and/or to increase the capacity to process, more DNA samples for entry into the Combined DNA Index System by publicly funded forensic DNA and DNA database laboratories.

Funding under this program is to increase the capacity of publicly funded forensic DNA laboratories to conduct analysis of crime scene samples for entry into CODIS.

With this solicitation, BJA seeks applications for funding to improve forensic science and medical examiner/coroner services, including services provided by forensic science laboratories operated by states and units of local government.

This program provides funding to enable eligible entities to improve the reporting, transportation, processing, and identification of missing persons and unidentified human remains, including migrants.

This program provides funding to support the prosecution of violent crime cold cases where a DNA profile from a known or unknown suspect has been identified.

This program provides funding to assist in defraying the costs associated with postconviction case review, evidence location, and DNA testing in violent felony cases where the results of such testing might show actual innocence.
