Enhancing Public Safety through improved technology and equipment.

The City of Greeley and Weld County, as certified disparate jurisdictions, submitted a joint application for the 2023 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) local solicitation. Each agency has goals in regard to the use of the provided funding. The main goal of the Greeley Police Department is to improve efficiency and acquire the equipment our officers need to be successful in their duties. This includes red dot sights for handguns, storage units for our firearms and weapon accessories, gun racks for better storage inside vehicles, individual first aid kits, and simunition swat training equipment. The main goal of the Weld County Sheriff’s Office is to ensure deputies are fully equipped with the appropriate tools needed to do the job required. This includes thermal scopes which will assist WCSO’s deputies in night searches and enable them to properly scan for important targets in the dark. These goals will enhance the City of Greeley and Weld County law enforcement agencies and work to protect public safety.
