2024 JAG Grant

Goal included in the 2024 project are the utilization of essential equipment as we continue in our efforts to reduce criminal activity in notable high crime areas of the city. The tasers purchased, as proposed by the police department in this grant, will be used to assist patrol officers, detectives and other sworn personnel certified for such equipment with their safety, suspect apprehension, and provide less than lethal force under necessary circumstances.

Our department goals include: crime reduction as well as apprehension and prosecution of offenders. As proposed in this grant, tasers will be used by patrol officers to promote officer safety; equipment purchases will aid in special operations and regular patrol.
