Purchase of Training Software and Associated Hardware

The York County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) has identified a need for a virtual training simulator for use by deputies.  Technology is available that will allow deputies to hone their responses to a multitude of real-life scenarios in a virtual environment.  Deputies using the system will enhance their abilities to make appropriate decisions regarding use of force when responding to an incident in a law enforcement capacity.  These training systems allow deputies to practice de-escalation techniques in dynamic environments.  Regular use of the simulator is expected to result in a decrease in the number and severity of uses of force by YCSO deputies.
