Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2008, $175,000)

The National Association of Drug Court Professionals, National Drug Court Institute (NDCI) will continue to develop and execute a comprehensive array of technical assistance (TA) services to assist adult drug courts to develop better program practices, improve outcomes, and enhance services to promote stabilized long-term recovery for drug court participants. NDCI provides technical assistance services to the drug court field utilizing a variety of mechanisms including peer to-peer consultation; office-based consultation; publications; teleconferencing, email, on-site training presentations and on-site drug court team facilitation sessions.

Through the Adult Drug Court Technical Assistance Initiative, NDCI will: market adult technical assistance availability to the drug court field; respond to all the drug court programs requesting technical assistance; assess the TA needs of all drug court programs completing a TA request form; develop a work plan for all on-site TA assignments; continue to work with jurisdictions which have pending TA requests; and evaluate every on-site TA event.
