The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) is looking for individuals from diverse backgrounds and regions to serve as grant application reviewers. Reviewers will participate remotely and will review 5-15 applications within a two-week period, earning $125 for each completed review. Some reviews may include a collaboration call to discuss applications with fellow reviewers.
Areas of Focus
Peer review applicants should have knowledge, expertise, and/or lived experience across a wide range of justice-related and community safety areas, including, but not limited to:
- Alcohol and substance use disorder prevention, harm reduction, treatment, and recovery services
- Community-based violence reduction
- Corrections and community corrections
- Courts and adjudication
- Crime prevention
- Criminal justice reform
- Evaluation, research, and statistics
- Forensic sciences
- Gang and gun crime
- Information sharing and technology
- Law enforcement
- Mental health and crisis intervention services
- Prosecution
- Reentry and recidivism reduction
- School safety
- Tribal justice
