Baltimore Police Department’s Republican National Convention Reimbursement

The stated purpose of this funding is to provide support for law enforcement activities, including personnel, necessary equipment, and overtime costs associated with the 2020 Presidential Candidate Nominating Convention events. Recipients are required fully explore other nonfederal funding streams to ensure that federal funds are being used to supplement, and not supplant, available state, local, or other sources, and obtain required Memorandums of Understanding; carefully manage the drawdown of grant funds based on approved costs and adhere to the Department of Justice Financial Guide rules on cash management; and develop and utilize a centralized, documented authorization process for expenditure of award funding for purposes of accountability and transparency. The recipient will use funds to support law enforcement activities associated with the Republican National Convention event held in Baltimore, Maryland, on August 26, 2020.
