To address rising gun violence in Cedar Rapids, IA, the applicant is seeking funding to expand and enhance the Welcome Resource and Notification (WARN) program through hiring a coordinator who will facilitate the program as well as perform critical follow up with clients to ensure swift, certain, and fair responses to client concerns. The WARN program is a meeting designed for all reentering offenders. Several agency representatives present timely information, including a clear message from law enforcement on consequences of reoffending and illegal use of firearms. Various social services agencies are available for one-on-one guidance for needed programs.
