FY2021 PREA PROJECT

This project will enhance security by providing preventative infrastructure and technology in three of the agency's four detention facilities. BSO’s Investigations and Projects Unit will install cameras in the Paul Rein Facility where there is currently no surveillance and utilize technology to enhance electronic monitoring and to integrate seamlessly with existing video monitoring systems. BSO will also upgrade existing cameras in the Main Jail that are past life expectancy and hinder detective’s ability to investigate PREA accusations. Additionally, staff will attend PREA conferences and training that will educate essential staff on new and emerging trends to reduce incidences of sexual assault in our jails.
