Promoting statewide awareness, response and support to inmate victims of sexual abuse

This proposal is intended to provide an integrated approach to sexual abuse in prisons, increasing training audiences, multidimensional delivery methods, increase criminal prosecutions, strengthen PREA Compliance Managers to increase the operationalization and proficiency of sexual safety, updated inmate orientation, and collaboration with community partners to increase victim care and support. This project will expand the agency's  training capacity by creating a more diverse delivery method to accommodate the flexibility needs for its workforce.  This will also allow it to train a greater audience and  expand its delivery to community partners to include statewide SANEs, victims’ advocates, states attorneys, judges, and law makers. Additionally, the agency will identify and work with neighboring states or similar sized systems to identify what successful processes they have implemented to ensure prosecution for sexual abuse allegations. Finally,  the agency will develop an inmate orientation video to be used on the unit television and tablets. This will also include an updated brochure that would be available in all translations and mediums necessary.
