Title of Proposal: Equipment Upgrades at the Middlesex Regional Medical Examiner's Office
Starting in 2016, Middlesex County entered into shared services agreements to provide all medical examiner services to Monmouth (2016) and Mercer Counties (2017) in the existing Middlesex County facility, thus forming the Middlesex Regional Medical Examiner’s Office (MRMEO). These mergers increased our autopsy caseload by 2.75 times, going from approximately 400 autopsies annually to approximately 1100 autopsies annually. While we were able to achieve NAME accreditation in February of 2020, the increase in caseload has caused a strain in efficiency in our morgue area.
In application for this grant, in order to improve efficiency, the Middlesex Regional Medical Examiner’s Office proposes to purchase the following:
A digital histology cassette labeler
Service Contract for cassette labeler
Ink jet ink cartridge for cassette printer
