With the support of the Strengthening the Medical Examiner-Coroner System Program, the McHenry County Coroner hopes to become the third county in Illinois to achieve accreditation through the International Association of Coroners/Medical Examiners (IACME).  The County will pay a contractor to develop and submit the policies necessary for the accreditation process, acquire the software necessary for accreditation, install a keyless security system to protect and document access to valuable evidence, obtain the supplies, and train the office on the best practices for Medical Examiners and Coroner’s used across the nation.  The residents of McHenry County will benefit from this accreditation process including those residing and doing business in our Opportunity Zone.
