Somerset County Project

Project objectives include purchasing a new and innovative prosecution software platform. This will involve the replacement of the outdated data management system with a modern case management system.  The proposed project will also create an Administrative Assistant position to oversee the implementation and usage of the new software platform. 

The successful implementation of the proposed project will reduce caseloads to manageable levels by updating its information technology, thereby unifying and automating processes that currently have to be performed manually. The office will also improve its ability to accurately collect data regarding criminal trends at a community level. This will permit the development of a statistically supported application of resources targeting community-specific issues, crime reduction, and overall caseload management.

The proposed project will benefit the entire criminal justice system in Somerset County, Pennsylvania.  The increased efficiency and effectiveness will ensure significant cost savings and improve overall criminal justice systems operations.
