The Muscogee (Creek) Nation (MCN) reservation spans nearly 5,000 square miles, and includes eleven counties in east-central Oklahoma and maintains the boundaries established in 1900. The reservation is divided into eight districts corresponding with the counties of Creek, McIntosh, Muskogee, Okfuskee, Okmulgee, and portions of Wagoner, Tulsa, Rogers, Hughes, Seminole, and Mayes.
The MCN Office of the Attorney General Prosecutor’s Office will utilize grant funds to support ongoing initiatives to modernize and enhance the Prosecutor’s Office casefiles, hardware, and information technology. Additional support through this award will provide the Prosecutor’s Office with the means to be able to digitize cases for remote access and secure storage in a centralized location, and upgrade computer equipment to be utilized by the prosecutors, support staff, and additional new hires. The Prosecutor’s Office will also purchase a case management software to provide prosecutors with the ability to manage and triage cases faster.
This Project will accomplish the overall goals of this grant by utilizing technology to digitize over 2,200 case files to a centralized location on the server to provide prosecutors with the ability to access and manage case files in an efficient manner while working remotely. In addition, the Project will provide for enhanced technology and data through office modernization and information technology for prosecutors to be able to manage cases more efficiently to reduce case load and triage of cases. This Project will be achieved through the following activities and deliverables.
Hire one (1) part-time contractor to perform digitization of case files.
Create written policies and procedures regarding access to the case files.
Purchase of four (4) scanners.
Purchase of 48 Port Power over Ethernet functionality (POE) Network Switch.
Purchase of one (1) Synology Backup Device / Network Share with twelve (12) hard drives
Purchase of one (1) Mac OS Server.
Improve the quality of court data from the moment of filing to the court.
Shorten the processing time for court filings and case dispositions.
Number of case files digitized.
Number of semi-annual programmatic reports submitted.
Twelve (12) 27-inch I-Mac computers with Applecare are purchased.
Twelve (12) Microsoft Office for Mac Licenses are purchased.
Twenty-four (24) 27-inch 4K monitors are purchased.
Four (4) Wi-Fi Access Points are purchased.
Prosecutor by Karpel is purchased, setup, and implemented.
Prosecutors are trained to utilize Karpel.
Number of cases prosecutors are managing.
