The town of Ridge Spring, SC is a small rural town with a population of 661 vulnerable citizens, of which the highest percentage (18%) of the population falls into the 60-69 age bracket. The majority of citizens at 64% are in a low to moderate low-income range, with 17.9% falling below the poverty line. To curb the growing violent and related type crimes in the Town of Ridge Spring, SC, and the surrounding areas the department will hire another sworn law enforcement officer to provide nightly coverage to the town and support to the surrounding areas via existing mutual aid agreements. In addition to hiring a sworn law enforcement officer we will also utilize current software and a part time non-sworn employee for crime analysis and monitoring of current and future surveillance equipment.
