The Rural Violent Crime Reduction Initiative project will aim to satisfy the need to reduce violent crime in rural areas of the counties that the South Georgia Judicial Circuit District Attorney's Office serves. The selected qualified applicant will be responsible for developing new ideas, with the help and cooperation of local law enforcement agencies, on how to reduce crime, implementing these ideas, and track effectiveness using analytical software. The South Georgia Judicial Circuit District Attorney's Office qualifies for this grant opportunity due to being a prosecuting office serving two out of five rural counties with a population of less than 15,000 people.
