The New Mexico Department of Public Safety (NMDPS) is seeking $533,333 in federal funding from the FY21 State and Local Law Enforcement Support to U.S. Military Installations grant program. The purpose of this project is to support law enforcement efforts to combat crime and maintain public safety at Holloman Air Force Base (AFB) located near Alamogordo, New Mexico.  The NMDPS Grants Management Bureau (GMB), as the State Administrating Agency (SAA) for U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) funds, submits this application on behalf of the New Mexico State Police (NMSP). This funding will be passed through to the sub-grantee, the NMSP, to provide onsite support to the U.S. military installations designed to temporarily house Afghan refugees at Holloman AFB as part of Operation Allies Welcome.  The NMSP will utilize federal grant funds to support overtime, lodging and per diem for law enforcement officers to combat crime and maintain public safety at the Afghan Refugee camp located on Holloman AFB.
