PCPD - BWC Implementation Project

The Village of Port Chester Police Department (PCPD) is currently comprised of 55 sworn law enforcement officers, 53 of which have regular/daily public contact from the rank of Lieutenant down. As such, PCPD is requesting funding assistance in the amount of $124,000 to procure 62 BWCs and the associated storage and accessories to implement a new, full-deployment BWC program, outfitting all 53 officers and maintaining 9 additional units as backups/replacement for those units taken out of service for repairs and in anticipation of the additional hiring of approximately 6 new officers in Fall 2021/Winter 2022. PCPD will provide a cash match of $148,509.95 (approximately 55% match) to offset the costs exceeding $2,000 per BWC. Without funding assistance, the department will be unable to deploy a BWC program.
