MCN Office of Attorney General SAUSA Project

The Muscogee Creek Nation will hire one or more full-time, legally trained, and bar-certified attorneys to support the investigation, coordination, and prosecution of criminal cases in tribal and federal court as a result of the McGirt v. Oklahoma decision. The invited grantee and staff will negotiate and implement a Memorandum of Agreement with the USAO to cross designate the tribal prosecutor as a SAUSA and to assess and coordinate decisions on the prosecution of cases under federal laws such as the Major Crimes Act, including a review of pending cases, and develop a system to address future cases.
