Denver Police Department Community Based Crime Reduction Program

The focus of this project will be to utilize community organizations and partners to work with the community to alleviate poverty, reduce crime and make the neighborhood a better place to live, work, and visit. The project will also increase resident safety and involvement while improving police-community relations. DPD will work with community organizations to develop and implement a community oriented, place based, partnership focused strategy. The selected southwest Denver neighborhood would include an adjacent neighborhood to the current CBCR site in Westwood so that similar tactics, community and neighborhood organizations, and command structure could be employed.
