Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2022, $52,000)

The Pacolet Police Dept proposes to develop a plan to replace an End of Life Police Patrol Vehicle that will definitely impact our ability to provide better police services.

The End of Life Police Patrol Vehicle Project is a project developed to replace a 15 year old patrol cruiser with the intention of providing better police services.

The End of Life Police Patrol Vehicle Project is attached to the Pacolet Police Dept which is located in Pacolet, South Carolina. The target area will be the incorporated limits of Pacolet, South Carolina which is approximately 3.50 square miles.

With the purchase of a new Patrol Vehicle and properly outfitting it with new and necessary equipment, this vehicle will allow the officer to perform his duties with efficiency, safety and better time management. The Pacolet Police Dept operates with 1 officer per shift, so it is paramount to have proper, safe and up to date equipment. This new Vehicle should also help in reducing maintenance costs two ways. The first being that the vehicle will have a warranty attached for approximately 3 years. the second being that it is a new vehicle there is less chance of breakdowns as opposed to the 15 year old vehicle being more susceptible to those type of issues. With the older vehicle not being under warranty then the repair costs drive up the maintenance costs.

The End of Life Police Patrol Vehicle Project will be at the mercy of Manufacturing Build times and is setting a target date between September 1, 2022 and January 31, 2023.

The end goal of the End of Life Police Patrol Vehicle Project is to reduce maintenance and repair costs, provide better safety and efficiency for the officer and create a more professional image of the Pacolet police Dept and the Town of Pacolet. This project should create a better prescence among the neighborhoods of the Town of Pacolet.
