Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2022, $1,600,000)

In Delaware there are 48 Law Enforcement Agencies with over 2,250 Sworn Officers.  These agencies range from having 560 Sworn Officers in a single agency, to numerous agencies with only one or two officers. The States Probation and Parole and Youth Rehabilitative Services are also included in our program. Of these departments:

      -21 Agencies that have no Body Worn Camera Program (including Probation and Parole and Youth Rehabilitative Services)

      -21 Agencies that have a BWC program but need additional cameras and support

      -8 Agencies have a fully functional BWC program, but have data transfer concerns
-The Department of Homeland Security is seeking grant funding to purchase a total of 910 BWC, ample docking stations, data integration and needed equipment to fully equip over 2,250 Officers who represent Delaware Law Enforcement Agencies, along with Probation and Parole (35 agents) and Youth Rehabilitative Services (13 agents) 

-The Department of Justice is seeking grant funding to purchase 5 years of needed licenses, storage, and other evidence management tools to view, transfer, edit and format files presented to the DOJ by all Law Enforcement Agencies, Probation and Parole and Youth Rehabilitative Services for review and prosecution.   

-The New Castle County PD is seeking grant funding to purchase 40 Body Worn Cameras that would ensure the department has a camera for each of their 400 Officers.

- The City of Dover Police Department is seeking grant funding to purchase 30 Body Worn Cameras that would ensure the department has a camera for each of their 106 Officers.  

-The Wilmington Police Department has a total of 319 sworn Officers, and they are requesting 4 Docking Stations and Camera Mounts for their BWC program ensuring they have a BWC and required equipment for each of their Officers.
Department of Homeland Security is requesting: $911,200.00
Department of Justice is requesting $600,000.00
New Castle County Police Department is requesting $45,000.00
Dover Police Department is requesting $30,000.00
Wilmington Police Department is requesting $9,000.00
State of Delaware Audit Fees .3% $4,800.00
