Las Vegas Municipal Court Compliance Project

The Las Vegas Municipal Courts’ Court Compliance Program will target individuals convicted of nonviolent misdemeanor offenders, who have been diagnosed with a mental health disorder and are subject to supervision. Presently, all defendants receive the same level and duration of supervision, regardless of their risks and needs. This project's goal is to improve case management, increase compliance, reduce recidivism, and reduce the number of status check hearings by tailoring post-sentencing supervision to a defendant’s risk level and needs, including through the use of incentives and graduated sanctions to respond promptly to probationers’ behaviors.
