Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2022, $788,875)

The Municipal and Traffic Court of New Orleans, working with the community, City of New Orleans, and justice system stakeholders, proposes to form a New Orleans Community Court (Community Court) to develop and implement collaborative supervision strategies based on the SCF principles of swift, certain, and fair responses to positive and negative  behaviors; to reduce recidivism and improve outcomes for people under supervision through process and outcome evaluation; and to improve public safety and reduce crime. A key component of the program will be housing assistance, behavioral health, and substance use disorder interventions.
