Mercer County Sheriff's Department Police Vehicles and Equipment

The grant recipient’s request in the amount of $300,000 consists of the purchase of six police vehicles at an estimated cost of $40,000 each, along with ancillary equipment for each vehicle at a cost of $10,000 each. The current vehicles that are being used by the Mercer County Sheriff's Department have excessive mileage and require costly repairs. Additional police vehicles will allow the sheriff's department to increase productivity and provide safer transportation when officers are responding to emergency calls. Approval of this project will also free up funding from the sheriff's budget to hire additional officers, which will make Mercer County a safer place to live and work.
