FY 23 Invited to Apply - Sex Offender and Registration Notification Act (SORNA) Reallocation Funds

The North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI), through the North Dakota Office of Attorney General (NDOAG), would like to request $28,119 in Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA) funding to support the Adam Walsh Act. This is in response to the invitation to apply.

BCI plans to (1) correct, enhance, and grow the current reporting system to NSOR, (2) streamline the validation methods for information that has been sent to NSOR, (3) automate the process of errors received by NSOR to our jurisdiction to ensure prompt attention/correction, and (4) send North Dakota Offender Registration staff members to future SMART Symposium trainings.   

Each aspect of this SORNA FY 2023 grant application supports ND’s overarching strategy of moving closer to SORNA compliance. Granting this request for SORNA FY 2023 funds will allow the NDOAG’s project team, which consists of technical, legal, and programmatic staff, to work collaboratively to complete the objectives outlined above.
