Guam FY 2023 Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) Reallocation Funds Program

The Guam Bureau of Statistics and Plans will use the PREA Reallocation funds to work on achieving jurisdictional compliance and sustainability of PREA standards to better protect individuals from sexual abuse and sexual harassment in Guam's confinement facilities.

To achieve this goal, the first objective will be to coordinate with the PREA Resource Center on available PREA Certified Auditors to conduct the second-year audit at both DOC and DYA. The second objective is to assess on-line training opportunities and to join membership in various juvenile and correctional associations to allow for the sharing of knowledge and to help build management capacity on PREA standards to effectively prevent, detect and respond to sexual abuse or harassment of those confined.
