Coordinated by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Kentucky, the Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) Team’s 2023 grant strategy will focus primarily on reducing recidivism by creating, or contributing to, a program, or programs, which provide resources and tools to individuals, and their families, to transition from confinement or supervision to home communities. With 2023 award funds, the PSN Team plans engage with a research partner or coordinator to evaluate the introduction and implementation of a program to provide tools and resources for violent offenders and at-risk offenders on supervision and those transitioning from the local detention center to a home community. At the time of application, the research partner or coordinator has not yet been selected. Engagement with a research partner or coordinator will support the PSN Team’s stated grant goals and objectives regarding community intervention and prevention.
