2023 PSN Grant for the Eastern District of Washington State

The Yakima (WA) Police Department continues to prioritize gang and gun violence intervention strategies for the Yakima Valley. Over the last three years, YPD has formed four subcommittees to guide these priorities and build analytical capacity to support data-driven interventions. In addition, the Kennewick (WA) Police department has focused on developing crime gun intelligence practices to support regional gun violence intervention strategies. The FY23 funding will be used to evaluate the next steps for either region and implement data-informed strategies to further enhance one or more agency’s efforts to address violent crime in the district.
