WV FY23 Project Safe Neighborhoods Initiative

The following is an outline of the award and sub-award process for the USAO and JCS: 1) the federal PSN application is submitted to BJA via Just Grants; 2) once the federal award is announced, JCS releases a funding announcement; 3) the USAO then selects sub-grantees/target areas through a competitive process; 4) JCS submits sub-award information to BJA for approval; and 5) grant funds are sub-awarded for project implementation. JCS is unable to submit a detailed project abstract and narrative until Step 3 is completed, as a lot of the information in these documents will depend on the sub-grantees/target areas selected by the USAO. However, these documents will be submitted to BJA for approval as soon as the step is completed.
