Grant to outfit Court Security deputies with on-body video cameras.

The Ada County Sheriff’s Office currently has 399 sworn deputies that include our Patrol, Court
Services, and Jail Services Bureaus. From those bureaus, the number of deputies that interact with the
public would be about 172. Our Patrol Bureau is already issued body cameras, so we are focusing this
grant to be able to provide the same body cameras to our Court Services Bureau, which includes Court
Security, Community Transitions Center, and the Transportation team. The number of cameras we are
requesting to purchase for this grant is 40. Those 40 cameras would cover the three teams to which we
want to deploy body cameras. All cameras on this project would go to sworn deputies.
