The City of Shreveport is currently facing unrest in the city due to police transparency and trust. The
Shreveport Police Department has proposed a project to purchase BWCs to improve community trust
and officer safety. The use of technology has advanced the next generation of video recordings with
BWCs. The Shreveport Police would like to implement a departmentwide program promoting
accountability within the community. Improving the BWC program will help to reduce the number of
sustainable complaints and use of force allegations. The BWCs will result in quicker investigations
and community resolve.
