FY23 JAG PRoject

Selma along with part of its police jurisdiction has a significant high crime rate which includes but is not limited to gang violence, gun violence, and drugs.  The funds made available through the JAG grant program will be used to target high crime areas by paying off-duty police officers to work overtime in an effort to be proactive.  These high crime areas are identified through daily monitoring of offense reports, compiling monthly statistics, and responding to citizens’ complaints.
