City of Compton FY23 JAG Project

The City of Compton Management staff believes that the presence of a stationed security officer may deter certain crimes from occurring. Subsequently, the City of Compton is requesting 2023 JAG funding to hire security services during park programming and large-scale special events that take place in the various city parks, as well as purchase safety coloring and activity books to engage the local children in safety awareness education. This funding will provide immediate safety support to city staff and promote a more welcoming environment for recreation programming for the community to enjoy; as well as bring safety awareness to 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders.
