The county of Kern will use JAG funds to improve the effectiveness of departmental operations to better assist offenders and the community. The funds would allow the department to better monitor accountability of in-custody youth and offenders on probation, enhance training for probation officers, bolster the K-9 unit, and improve technology used for social media and outreach efforts. The use of these funds would allow for a safer community by continuing to improve relationships with county residents and law enforcement and improve officer safety during day-to-day operations.
