Purchase of three radar traffic detection trailers.

Adams County Sheriff's Office is continually seeking a resolution to traffic concerns, particularly concerning speeding and accidents within the community. Tackling the issue by providing a visual reminder through the traffic trailer and collecting data allows the Sheriff's Office to positively impact the areas where the community feels unsafe and unwilling to travel. Utilizing the visual deterrent frees up the staffing needed to respond to the community's demands for something to be done because it detours speeding and allows the data collected from the Traffic Trailers to put the staffing where necessary to combat the issue.

Radar traffic detection trailers are portable radar systems that display speed to motorists. Trailers record information on times of day when speeding occurs most often. Obtaining traffic data from the trailer allows the Adams County Sheriff's Office to focus efforts and deploy personnel to combat problem areas. Utilizing the units in areas where speed is a concern has proven to reduce speeds and increase awareness. The Sheriff's Office would like to purchase three traffic trailers.
