Grant funds will enhance community safety through targeted initiatives. The primary focus lies on High Visibility Patrols and Selective Enforcement Patrols in the core of South Norwalk, an area of residential complexes managed by the Norwalk Housing Authority, magnet schools, a homeless shelter, the South Norwalk Train Station, and the SONO District. The area has seen concentrated gang activity and criminal incidents. Additionally, the grant will fund the deployment of Automatic Plate Readers at strategic intersections to address the surge in vehicle-related crimes. These enhancements will improve public safety and foster stronger bonds between law enforcement and the community.
