Crime and Violence Reduction Strategies

The New Castle County Division of Police will use the JAG funds on crime and violence reduction strategies. The overall goals are to ensure officer safety, enhance community policing efforts, design strategies for lowering crime by analyzing crime trends, and deploy overtime officers to address violent crime in the communities with an increase of crime. In addition, they will increase efforts to attract and retain an all-inclusive, diverse, expert, and accountable law enforcement workforce, with a focus on gender and racial diversity. They seek training to enhance skill sets of all officers, purchase specialized equipment to ensure community and officer safety, and deploy overtime officers based on elevated crime trends. The members of the New Castle County Police are dedicated to making our communities safer through the professional delivery of police services while actively engaging in innovative problem solving and cooperative partnerships.
