OPD Property Crimes Investigations Enhancement Project

The Orlando Police Department (OPD) will use JAG Local funding to enhance the quality and timeliness of Property Crimes investigations, suspect identification, stolen item recovery, case clearance rates, and criminal prosecution. A three-year subscription to the investigative tool LeadsOnline will mitigate the challenges of heavy caseloads, short staffing, limited investigator experience, and database limitations that often make property crime investigations challenging. Requested funding will also assist OPD in achieving its mission to “Keep Orlando a Safe city by reducing crime and maintaining livable neighborhoods” and affirm its vision to be a model agency with advancements in technology and investigative efforts.
