Crime and Violence Reduction Strategies Through Equipment Improvements

The city of Columbus, Georgia will use JAG funds to purchase four ballistic vests for the Columbus Fire/EMS Department for the safety of their fire investigators, 64 protective stab vests for the Muscogee County jail personnel for their safety, to develop and implement an early warning smart phone app for emergency notification of citizens and businesses in the event of natural and man-made disasters, and to purchase two K-9 packages for adding two K-9 units to the Columbus Police Department, which currently only has one K-9 unit.
