Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2023, $66,832)

Both the the Idaho Falls Police Department (IFPD) and Bonneville County Sheriff's Office (BCSO)  will maximize cost effectiveness by contacting various vendors/suppliers in order to get the most effective price for the outlined equipment.  All costs outlined in this budget were estimated by contacting various vendors/suppliers for prices or obtaining quotes. The Idaho Falls Police Department is requesting JAG funds to purchase 1, StatTrack-Solar Rader System (any overage will be covered by the agency). The City of Idaho Falls has seen exponential growth in the last four years, as such our traffic has increased as well. Yet our authorize number of Officer has not. IFPD is currently running two traffic Officers Monday through Friday, and our response time to non- critical traffic violations is not ideal. having these radar signs will help mitigate speed issues in high traffic areas of town, while also lowering the risk of accidents related to speed. In addition our officers will have a presence without actually having to be in multiple places at once. Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office is requesting JAG funds to purchase 1, Morse Watchmen 6 module locker system, 2, precision scales, and 1, Fentanyl fume hood.  Our deputies will utilize the Morse Watchmen 6 Locker System to secure K9 training drugs, the Precision scales are for more accurate weighing of evidence and training aids, the Fentanyl fume hood is for overall Deputy safety while processing narcotics and unknown substances.
