Transition to a Mobile Device (DeX) Environment for Officers

The City of Bloomington, the Town of Normal, and the County of McLean are all disparate jurisdictions. Each has independent proposed projects. The City of Bloomington seeks to fund the transition from traditional laptop-style mobile data terminals to information systems that are contained on a personal device, such as phones and tablets. Furthermore, the BPD seeks to fund the transition to all necessary data systems through iOS and/or Android applications. Lastly, the BPD seeks to fund supporting hardware for installation of the new hardware, and additional accessories for the personal devices, which will increase officer efficiency and the ability to serve members of the community. The Town of Normal seeks to fund a covert surveillance camera to augment their investigative ability in violent crime. The McLean County Sheriff's Office seeks to fund exterior vest carriers, helmets, and rifle plates for officer encounters with long guns.
