Radio communication back-up system

The City of Rockford Police Department utilizes a radio/communications back-up system with only two broadcast repeater towers.  As the Department’s area is wider than the coverage zone, there is no adequate back-up system to ensure officer communication and safety.  The grant funding will allow the City of Rockford to enhance the system with five additional communication receivers as well as upgrade the technology within our dispatch/911 Center systems.
