Fatality and Aggressive Driving Reduction Enforcement Program

Over the last year, the City of Lawrence has seen an influx of vehicular traffic due to economic development and growth. This growth contributed to vehicle related accidents resulting in serious bodily injury, fatalities, and increased vehicle speeds. This in turn can contributes to drivers being potentially intoxicated or under the influence of unknown substance. The City of Lawrence requests funding to purchase radar units and portable breathalyzer machines also known as PBT's. The purchase of radar units and PBT's will assist officers with reducing the potential risk of excessive driving, and identifying drivers who are potentially intoxicated.
