Lawrence FY23 JAG Program for Cameras and Technology

The City of Lawrence will use the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program funds to purchase and install internal cameras, a server, and monitors at the police station. By adding more cameras, the entire system would become more reliable, compatible, and up-to-date, which would further enhance the Department's continued efforts towards transparency and accountability. Furthermore, this would also assist in ensuring the safety of our esteemed officers. Additionally, we are pleased to mention that the new surveillance would use the same technology as that of the external cameras purchased by the city for installation in public spaces.
