FY23 JAG Crime Scene Evidence and Technology Equipment Project

The Cumberland Police Department will purchase forensic equipment with the BJA FY 23 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG). This grant will be shared with the Allegany County Sheriff's Office. The purpose of our forensic equipment project will be to purchase desired equipment and technologies associated to help better serve the citizens of the City of Cumberland and the residents of Allegany County. This will aid both agencies in thorough investigations to include the ability to take a deeper dive into evidence collection than we currently can. This will help them with successfully closing burglaries, vehicle thefts, and general thefts in general.
