Purchase/Train new K-9 for the City of Eastpointe Police Department

The City of Eastpointe needs a new police K-9 team. The current K-9 handler was promoted to the rank of sergeant and can no longer operate as a team with their former K-9. The city is in dire need of the K-9 program to help locate illegal drugs, suspects that have fled from the police officers, suspects that have committed crimes, and fled the scene of the crime and as a great public relations tool for the city and the police department. The city will pay for the officer and is requesting this grant to cover the cost of purchasing/training and equipping a new K-9 officer.
