2023 Community Safety and Police Protection Improvement Project

The City of Maplewood’s Police Department will use Fiscal Year 2023 JAG funds to purchase equipment in support of its internal law enforcement program “2023 Community Safety and Police Protection Improvement Project.” The equipment being acquired is a wearable hard body armor system consisting of two plates (front & rear) and an accompanying carrier. The armor to be acquired has been tested and meets current Level III NIJ standards, is sized and adjustable to the individual wearer, manufactured in the United States, and the agency has a mandatory body armor wear policy which is attached to this application.
