Police equipment and office computers

The Joplin Missouri Police Department and the Jasper County Sheriff's Department requests funds through the JAG grant to help with areas of officers’ safety, proper handling, protection, and processing of crime scenes, having access to updated and reliable computers to carry out day to day business, and having the ability to hand out business cards to citizens. To help with officer safety, ballistic shields will be purchased to add extra security for officers who are called to deal with incidents involving gun fire or dangerous instruments being used against them. To process and protect crime scenes properly, the Joplin Police Department wants patrol officers to have a crime scene kit accessible to them so that they can achieve this goal. The Jasper County Sheriff's Department wishes to be more organized while conducting daily business within the department, being able to update outdated computers will help them do so. With the purchase of a business card machine, officers will be able to hand business cards out during citizen contacts, this gesture is something that will help with good customer service.
