2023 JAG Grant funds used to further the law enforcement efforts in supporting the citizens of Burlington, NC.

This jurisdiction has seen an increase in criminal activity pertaining to the Breaking and Entering and Theft of Motor Vehicles. In an effort to investigate and catch those who commit these crimes along with other criminal activity, the department wants to invest in digital equipment capable of collecting video evidence as well as equipment to process evidence of crimes to obtain suspects The equipment will be cameras with an assortment of features that make it possible to give the police the ability to monitor areas without police personnel being in the area of the camera deployment. The disparate jurisdiction will use the funds to purchase evidence analysis equipment in order to process latent print evidence located at crime scenes for the arrest and prosecution of offenders. This is in an effort to have a more successful investigation and better ability to prosecute the case after an arrest.
